On a fateful summer night in 2006, "Muta Namba" and his brother "Hibito" witnessed a UFO that they believed was flying towards the moon. This rare occurrence sparked their interest in space exploration, and they vowed to become astronauts who would take the lead in conquering the moon when they grew up. Years later, "Hibito" is fired from his job at an automobile company. Desperate, he sends a message to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, or JAXA, asking to be accepted as an astronaut ("Muta" is an astronaut working for the same agency), and when JAXA accepts "Hibito's" request, he now has the opportunity to revive their childhood dreams alongside "Muta".
